Team Building Events

Teams young and young at heart love out challenges!
Fun on the Lower Salt encourages teamwork and group dynamics back in town Teamwork
Starting with our classic Rally Day, Desert Voyagers has always created their own unique team building events in order to assure that the purpose and flow of the event remain conducive with our high standards of service. In the past five years, Desert Voyagers has expanded their custom line of team building events and we are proud to now offer seven distinct programs to fit your group's needs! From casual competition to extremely effective professionally facilitated challenges, and fitting into almost any time slot you have available, we'll help you design the program with the distinction you're looking for.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Team Building Events have a participant minimum of 12 guests and a maximum of 100.
  • Your group will have an Escort meet them at their hotel or resort and ride with them to the river, answering questions and discussing the tour on the way.
  • Allow 4 hours for this teambuilding event.
  • Need transportation? Catering? Entertainment? All group tours can be even more entertaining and special with our Add-on services.
  • Our tours are comfortable, non-strenuos and scenic but do require some participants to paddle casually at times during the tour.
  • We accept children age 4 and up on the Funwater Rafts and age 8 on the kayaks. We can accommodate most people with special needs; but please if you are pregnant, wait to enjoy our tours until after your bundle of joy has been delivered!

Take an Adventure Quest down the Lower Salt today! A downturn in the economy shouldn't mean that your office dynamics have to suffer! Your employees deserve a break and a reward for their hard work and loyalty even more right now and an Adventure Quest is the perfect way to do that. The Desert Voyagers Adventure Quest was created with the explicit purpose of offering a quality river float (you choose: rafts or kayaks) with a complete teambuilding event for less than the cost of most other group events in Arizona. Teams will boat down the beautiful Lower Salt River, enjoying the scenery and wildlife of the Sonoran Desert. After the tour, teams will race to rotate through equipment stations where they will answer trivia questions to collect various gear to build a kayak-based watercraft. The faster the teams answer the questions correctly, the better the equipment they'll receive. Finally teams will race the river in their boats and the best time will win! This is a funfilled, competitive and wet event that's great for groups of all sizes and dynamics!

    Voyage for Lost Treasure
A scenario-based event where teams must work their way through a scavenger hunt for lost treasure while rafting down the river. more..
Here's the scenario: The mythical Ka-Ha-Teni Indians have perished into the sands of Sonoran Desert history but their legendary treasure still lives. Groups will be split into teams and loaded onto rafts armed with paddles, a leather treasure map, their first hint in a chain of scavenger hunt style clues and a good dose of resolute determination. If their will is strong enough and they keep their wits about them, they may make it to the hidden treasure. If not the harsh desert may swallow them into history like the Ka-Ha-Teni. This event is less directly competitive since teams may be following different sets of clues and searching for their own individual treasures. As one of our most creative and involved programs, the Voyage for Lost Treasure will leave your group with terrific memories and a bond they will continue to share long after they've retumed to the office. T.E.A.M. Challenge
An in-depth teambuilding event with on-land challenges placedalong the river float, plus professionally led debriefs at the end of each element. more..
One of many challenges possible on your T.E.A.M. Challenge day The T.E.A.M. Challenge was created by Desert Voyagers for groups needing a change in their dynamics and the way they work together as a team. Team members are chosen carefully to create a diverse mix of personalities. The teams will float peacefully down the Lower Salt River with up to three stops for on-land challenges. Each element will push team members outside of their comfort zones. Leaders become followers and followers become the leaders. We focus on encouraging affective communication, building trust, taking on new roles and doing what is needed for your team to be successful. Your group will leave with a more positive attitude. Each element is followed with a professionally led debrief where team members will talk about their performance and what could have worked better. Through communication and a commitment to improving, participants break down barriers and embrace a new approach to their daily workplace actions, while completing fun and exciting elements.

Combine the Build-A-Raft event with even more fun and intrigue as teams must learn various survival skills like primitive fire and compass making - no tour included. more..
Like the idea of a Build-A-Raft competition but want a little more? Book a Cast Away adventure today! Cast Away begins with teams learning the basics of survival on a desert island. First on the To-Do List is primitive fire! Teams must learn from an experienced fire-maker how to rub two sticks together to create flame. A simple lifesaving tool, fire provides warmth, signaling, water sterilization, and comfort. Next our cast aways must figure out where they are by creating a compass from almost nothing. Teams will move on when they can correctly shoot a bearing with their compass. Finally teams gather for the Build-A-Raft section of their challenge. They've done well surviving on the island but now it's time to set out for the high rolling seas and go home. Each team will be given identical black boxes filled with mystery materials. These materials must be used to make a river worthy craft that will take their entire team across the river and back safely. Rafts will be judged on the time it took to build the raft, performance and speed on the water.
